Privacy Policy

Last updated 18 August 2026

The sangat trusts us with its attention and, for members, with personal details. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and the rights you hold over it.

1. What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address and a securely hashed password when you register.
  • Membership details: your subscription status and history. When online payments launch, card details will be handled by a regulated payment provider and will never touch our servers.
  • Technical information: standard server logs such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, used for security and to keep the service running.
  • Correspondence: anything you send to our team by email.

2. How we use it

We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it for profiling. The channel carries no advertising.

  • To operate your account and deliver the membership you have asked for.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse of the broadcasts.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the sangat uses the channel so we can improve it.
  • To reply when you contact us.

3. Legal bases

Under UK data protection law we rely on contract for running your account and membership, legitimate interests for security and service improvement, and consent for anything optional such as non-essential cookies.

4. Who we share it with

A small number of processors help us run the service: our hosting provider stores the database, our email provider delivers service messages, and, once payments launch, a regulated payment provider will process transactions. Each acts only on our instructions. We never pass data to anyone else unless the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is open and for up to twelve months after closure, then deleted. Server logs are kept for ninety days. Financial records are kept as long as tax law requires.

6. Your rights

To exercise any right, write to privacy@afghansikh.tv. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct anything inaccurate.
  • Ask us to delete your data or close your account.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.

7. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies, mostly to keep you signed in. Full details, and your choices, are in our Cookie Policy.

8. Children

The site is intended for adults. Accounts and memberships must be created by someone aged eighteen or over. Broadcasts themselves are family viewing and always will be.
